Editorial practices in gender equality

Cuadernos del Audiovisual | CAA complies with the commitment of the Audiovisual Council of Andalusia which has, among the functions assigned to it by its Law of creation, that of promoting gender equality through the promotion of diverse activities, in this case the editorial activity linked to the dissemination of scientific knowledge. It is, therefore, committed to gender policies that lead to real equality.

Likewise:

-Editorial participation: Cuadernos del Audiovisual | CAA will promote a balanced editorial composition of women and men in the different instances of the journal as well as among the people who evaluate the works.

-Use of inclusive language: Cuadernos del Audiovisual | CAA will value in its editorial decisions the use of inclusive language in scientific articles that takes into account the presence and situation of women in society and that is consistent with the principle of equality. The generic masculine will be avoided.

For a review of alternatives and proposals for use, we suggest consulting the section on the contents developed by the United Nations on its Internet portal: Gender-inclusive language.

-Perspective in research: research papers shall not reinforce stereotypes or contain gender biases that adopt the masculine as a universal referent, exacerbate biological differences or naturalize historical and socially constructed differences.
